BJ Craig
Assistant Head Coach University of Notre Dame Trainer for the Indiana Invaders 96,97 & 98 Boys

Craig, a native of Westford Mass., is a 1993 graduate of Gordon College with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. He lettered two seasons for Gordon College, helping lead them to a Commonwealth Coast Conference championship in 1992. Craig earned a master’s degree in education from the University of Massachusetts Lowell in 1997.

He is a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and holds a USSF B License.

Craig has four children palying Invaders Noah 96 boys, Micah 95 boys, Jonah 98 boys, and daughter Mattea plays Invaders Minis.

 


Chad Riley
Assistant Head Coach University of Notre Dame & Indiana Invaders U18 boys

Chad Riley, a native of Houston, Texas, was a four-time monogram winner and received all-BIG EAST honors on three occasions during his Notre Dame career.  For his career, Riley totaled 52 points on 10 goals and 32 assists. He led the team in assists three seasons and was Notre Dame’s top scorer as a freshman. Riley currently ranks second on the Irish career list for assists. He graduated with a degree in theology from the College of Arts and Letters and was twice named to the BIG EAST Academic All-Star Team.

Following his graduation from Notre Dame in 2004, Riley served as an assistant coach at Oberlin College in Ohio during the 2004 season. He helped guide the Yeomen to a 9-8-3 record as five players earned all-North Coast Athletic Conference honors. The team also was a recipient of the National Soccer Coaches Association Team Academic Award, posting a 3.52 grade-point average, the highest of any of the 73 men’s teams honored.

At St. John’s in 2005, Riley helped guide the Red Storm to an 11-6-5 record and a berth in the third round of the NCAA Tournament before falling to top-seeded and eventual national champion Maryland.

Mario Manta
Head Coach 96 Boys Black and PDL coach

Mario Manta brings a wealth of soccer experience to the Indiana Invaders.  An accomplished player in his own right Manta founded the Indiana Invaders  in 1998 with the goal of developing youth soccer players in the area. Manta has coached and managed the Invaders for 11 PDL seasons.  During his time at the helm of the team the Invaders have posted two playoff appearances in 1998 and 2003, had 3 players on first team All PDL, won five consecutive State titles in 2002-2006.  As a Head Coach, Manta has an overall record of 96-85-20. He has coached or assisted 200 of the 201 PDL games. 

 

Manta has an impressive playing resume.  He played 74 games in four years of varsity soccer at the University of Notre Dame (1979-1982).  The team had an impressive 72- 24-6 record with Manta scoring 36 goals and recording 18 assists.  In 1982 he scored 6 game winning goals.  In 1979 he set a school record of 4 goals in a half in a 4-2 win on Oct 12.  He is currently ranked 6th on Notre Dames’s All-Time scoring list.  Manta scored the first ever ND goal at old Alumni Field in a 4-3 win over #1 ranked St Louis on September 13th, 1981.  That team was the first ND men’s team to beat a #1 ranked team in the country.  He was voted Offensive MVP in 1982 and coached the Notre Dame JV team from 1985 to 1987.  Prior to arriving at the University Manta played for Xelaju MC in Guatamala from 1985 - 1987.  Manta was the youngest player registered in the Guetamala First Division in 1976, playing a first team game at age 15.

 

Mario Manta graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a BA in Economics (1984), MA in Economics (1984) and an MBA (1985). Manta and his wife Kim have four children, Makayla, Mario, Max and Melina.

 

 Currently there are four Mantas playing Invaders Makayla (95 girls) Mario (96 boys) Max (97boys) and Melina Invaders Minis.

Duma Magagula
Indiana Invaders 95 Super Y Boys

Duma Magagula

Duma is originally from Zimbabwe. He is graduate of Kenyon College, OH. After graduating, he served as an assistant coach for a year. Currently he is the Head Coach at Trinity High School in South Bend.

Currently coaches the 95 Boys Super Y team that finished 3rd in the 2009 Super Y season. 


Patty Karban
Patty Karban started her soccer experience with the Michigan Hawks program in 1987.  After winning the state tournament for four years and winning two regional championships Coach Patty’s team won the National title in 1991.
 
Patty trained in the Michigan State ODP program from 1989 to 1991.  She was named to the Michigan High School All-State team in 1991 and 1992.  She played for the NCAA Division One University of Dayton Flyers team on an athletic scholarship from 1992 to 1996.
 
Her coaching experience includes numerous soccer camps as well as Middle School and High School Basketball.  Coach Patty and her husband Bill have a son and 2 daughters.
 
 

Djamel Charmat
Indaiana Invaders 96 Indiana Invaders Girls Coach & Marion HS Girls Co Head Coach

Djamal originaly from Algeria, grew up playing soccer in Algeria and played regional division 1 club in Algeria and Tulane University. He currently the Head varsity coach at Clay High School in South Bend.

Djamel holds National Diploma and Goalkeeping Diploma from NSCAA and USSF "C" license.


Brandon Shiflett
Indiana Invaders 98 boys

Brandon attended Purdue University and grew up with the Pittsburgh Strikers (travel team in Pittsburgh, PA) and PA West (ODP)
 
Has been coaching youth soccer for 5 years.


Bobbie Milliken
Head Coach Indiana Invaders 93 Girls Coach

Attended Notre Dame, graduated 1989.  Bobbie played on the women’s team freshman and sophomore year a club team at the time. She has been coaching travel soccer for 5 years.  She started coaching for MSA 1997 and started playing soccer when I was in the 4th grade, and played all through high school.
